The apartment is situated on the east wing of the property and provides you with your own entrance .On the first floor you will find a living room, dining room, fitted kitchen as well as a bathroom with a separate W.C. On the second floor there are two large bedrooms (17m2 and 18m2) with twin beds, a large bathroom and a toilet.For the car-owner there is ample safe, secure underground car-parking close by and you can of course park in the courtyard as you drop your luggage off. Just as handy, if you happen to be on foot: the train station is a 8-minutes walk away. Situated in the pedestrianised heart of the Bastide , the apartment is ideally located for discovering  the people and life of Carcassonne. A stone through you will appreciate close by the beautiful Saint-Michel cathedral,  the place Carnot with its cafés, restaurants, local commerces and the remarkable covered market open three times a week selling local produce. Just a 10-minute walk away is the Canal du Midi where you can walk, rent bikes or relax on a guided boat trip.Or you can just cross the 14th century bridge at the end of the street and wander through the city's medieval heart with its ramparts, towers and keep.Carcassonne is also a fantastic base  for discovering the area's other attractions: the magnificent ruined Cathar castles, the grottoes and lakes of the Montagne Noire, (the local village of Montolieu famous for its books shops), hiking in the wine-making area of Corbières, not to mention the Mediterranean beaches only 45 minutes away.
